China International Logistics Week (CILW) 2009, co-sponsored by China Communications and Transportation Association (CCTA) and Nanjing Municipal People’s Government, will take place in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, from 18 to 22 November, 2009.
CILW has grown with the logistics development in China. Since the initial event in 2003, CILW has developed into the biggest logistics event with highest level and most international influence in Asia. After the big success in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu, CILW chooses Nanjing, the east logistics hub city in China, as the host city.
During the previous CILW2008, 261 logistics enterprises and tens of thousands of representatives, which came from 17 countries including U.S. Canada, Australia, Japan and etc., attended various CILW events. The exhibition area of China International Transportation and Logistics Expo (CITLE) 2008 was over 20,000 square meters, and the well-known logistics enterprises such as COSCO, Sinotrans, and CSCL were some of the major exhibitors. A total of 300 deals were made during the event with total investment of RMB 22 billion.
The CILW2009 consists of over 10 activities including “The 8th China International Transportation and Logistics Expo”(CITLE), “Global Logistics Forum 2009”, “China Logistics Inspection Tour” and etc. The expected exhibitors and visitors will increase considerably than that of the previous one.
Nanjing, as one of the 21 national logistics hub cities, has great market potentials and excellent investment environment. Nanjing is located in the Yangtze River Delta. Since it is the intersection of Yangtze River—an east-west water transport artery and Shanghai-Beijing railway—a south-north land transport artery, hence the name “door of the east and west, throat of the south and north”. Nanjing Municipal People’s Government is focus on constructing Nanjing into a center of shipping, service, finance and logistics in the Yangtze River Delta.
